Mulateiro (Calycophyllum spruceanum) bark – 32 oz. (1 kg.) bulk powder. 

Preparations

In the Amazon basin, the bark of the Mulateiro tree is traditionally prepared as a decoction taken at a suggested dosage of half a cup, 2 to 3 times daily. 

Indigenous peoples of the Amazon prepare a decoction of Mulateiro by adding 100 g of the bark to 1 liter of boiling water and allowing the mixture to boil until 400 mL remain. From a daily dosage of approx. 5 ounces for several months, the decoction is locally believed to support healthy blood sugar. 

Pour the decoction through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well sealed container.
