Preparations
The leaves of Damiana are taken in the form of an infusion (tea), fluid extract, and in capsules.
Traditionally, the leaves of Damiana were taken as an infusion at a dosage of 23 cups daily. To prepare the infusion, place 24 g of the powdered leaves in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow the powder to steep in 1 cup of freshly boiled hot water in a covered pot for 1015 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well sealed container.
