Our cacao powder comes exclusively from a native co-op community near Iquitos. The cacao bean is the seed of the fruit and is often thought of as a culinary nut. Cacao is widely regarded as a "super food". Cacao and cocoa are both high in polyphenols such as epicatechin. The less processed the cacao, the higher the content of polyphenols.
