About Burdock Root
Burdock root is known in Japan as gobo. The young root is used as a cooked vegetable. Burdock roots are rich in inulin, a source of fructooligosaccharides(FOS) which enhance the growth of healthy bowel flora, with common and traditional uses that include.
Skin Health: Applied topically (salve or oil) or consumed as tea, addressing acne, eczema, psoriasis, and dry scalp due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.*
Liver and Detoxification: Considered a "liver-support" plant, it helps stimulate bile production, remove toxins, and reduce fat buildup in the liver.*
Digestive and Metabolic Support: The high fiber content aids digestion, while compounds like chlorogenic acid and inulin may help regulate blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity, and lower cholesterol.*
